chet

Chet (ਚੇਤ, چیت), the first month that opens a new year, is the month of spirituality, joy, and happiness. It falls in March and April (mid-March to mid-April). Some people also call it Chaitra. It is usually time to say goodbye to winter, a symbol of loneliness, and welcome spring, a symbol of hope and prosperity.

As the climate is neither hot nor cold, people of all ages enjoy this season. It depicts the revival of life and the regeneration of plants. Plants grow very well, and flowers are abundant everywhere, like roses, daffodils, etc. The air fills with a special fragrance and freshness. It is the best time to plan trips and picnics.

This month is also important to farmers as the weather is suitable for sowing summer (Kharif) crops. They take advantage of moderate weather and sow crops such as millet, Bajra, corn, rice, sugarcane, etc.
