Magh (ਮਾਘ,ماگھ), the second last and eleventh month of the desi calendar, occurs in January and February (mid-January to mid-February). It is also a cold month but with lower intensity as compared to the previous month. The weather is cold during the day, and the temperature may fall to zero degrees at night. Strong cold winds blow during this month. 

Days start getting longer. New leaves can be seen on the trees’ branches in the second half of this month, which marks the arrival of spring. Plants and animals start coming back to life. The wheat crop is almost ready, and proper irrigation is done to get the maximum output of this crop. Some vegetable plants like potatoes can also be planted during this month.
